Who Am I?

My name is Abiola Akanni. Feel free to call me Abiola or Biola - never Abby tho! I’m the founder of Yoga by Biola and Trap Vinyasa, in addition I’m a yoga practitioner and educator. 

I didn’t start there though. As a child I experienced depression at a young age. It was as if I was born backwards. All my childhood photos showcase a somber kid which was exacerbated by sexual trauma.

When we moved to Washington state from Atlanta I was so badly bullied I had to transfer schools. My social anxiety was debilitating and my inferiority complex even worse. It was no surprise I started experimenting with drugs at a young age. By college I was full blown abusing them.

I didn’t realize I wasn’t ‘living’ (only existing) in my body until I stepped on a yoga mat. Transformative? Yes, but not in the way you‘d think. The practice didn’t reveal who I was, rather it showed me what was in me. You see, you have no power over what you cannot see & if you can’t see into yourself you can’t heal. 

The true practice of yoga is one of self study. No studio. No instructor. Just you. When I was able to explore the multidisciplinary practice of yoga off the mat that’s when I activated my power to self heal and begin the journey back home to myself. I am committed to sharing this with you because it is your birth right!

  • Transform dense energy in the body in real time

  • Recognize who you are outside of the influence of your past

  • Confidently take actions that honor your authentic nature as opposed to being influenced by teachings and constructs passed down to you

  • Receive your divine right to self heal

  • Master “location association” to move dense energy in the body 

  • Explore your authentic nature through the beliefs you embody as opposed to the ones passed down to you

  • Activate your divine feminine energy via receptivity

  • Practice self intimacy 

Return to Self is a 7 day course designed to activate your ability to self heal and reconnect with your authentic nature. I use our proprietary methodology, better known as the 3 B’s, as well as Ayurveda or ancient yogic philosophy, to guide you through.

These are the multi-pronged practices of yoga featured in this course, better known as asana, pranayama, mediation, Ayurvedic studies (also called Source wisdom) and reflective writing.
